What is infrared, and what does it do?
Infrared saunas are safe
Infrared light is part of the Sun’s invisible spectrum. One of far infrared light’s characteristics is the ability to easily penetrate human tissue. When this happens, it creates a natural resonance, which has many beneficial properties.
Remember the last time you were sunbathing with sunscreen? Were you still hot? Of course you were – because the sunscreen only stops the UV (Ultraviolet) light from hitting your skin.
The far infrared heat (Far infrared light waves) penetrates your skin, giving you that wonderful natural warmth.
You can be exposed to far infrared heat for hours and it will never cause your skin to burn. Far infrared heat is completely healthy and safe for all living things.
In fact, it is so safe it is used in hospitals to warm newborn infants.
Infrared saunas and detox
Detox at a cellular level. Detoxify the body from heavy metals including mercury, lead, cadmium, and aluminum. Detox arsenic, formaldehyde, and industrial chemicals.
The special heaters helps to purify cells, where our body stores waste and harmful toxins, such as cholesterol and heavy metals.
Detoxification is made simple and easy through Far infrared sauna therapy.
Infrared sauna technology emits the “vital rays”
All humans send and receive Far infrared waves. The range of waves generated by the human body is 6 to 20 microns.
The optimal micron output range is between 7 and 14 microns which is very close to the resonant frequency of a water molecule. This similarity makes sense since our bodies are almost 70% water. This range, sometimes called “Vital Rays” appears to have special regenerative effects on the body.
The result of the heater designs allows for better performance well within this vital wave range of 7 to 14 microns with a good portion of wavelengths at 9.4–which is the frequency at which a water molecule resonates or vibrates.
This vibration causes a release of cellular toxins such as mercury, aluminum, cholesterol and other toxic gases such as sulfur and formaldehyde. This optimal micron output also allows for deeper penetration of Far infrared heat, which improves pain relief, detoxification, circulation, and increased peripheral blood flow.
Infrared saunas technology unlike any other
Infrared saunas are not created equally. Far infrared saunas make you sweat more and feel better.
Far infrared sauna therapy can be increased through our Solocarbon® Far infrared heater technology. Far infrared sauna kits and home saunas are manufactured with the quality to fit any need.
Benefits of Infrared
Detoxification
Detoxing in a far infrared sauna is 7 to 10 times greater than a conventional sauna.
In a conventional sauna, the average person sweats out 3% toxins and 97% water. The average person sweats out 20% toxins and 80% water while in a far infrared sauna.
Skin Purification
Improve your skin’s appearance with regular use of a detoxing infrared sauna.
Open wounds heal quicker with reduced scarring. Far infrared heat therapy helps acne, eczema, psoriasis, burns and any skin lesions or cuts. It also reduces wrinkles, makes skin look radiant, firms and improves skin tone and elasticity.
Regular use may also help reduce cellulite trapped beneath the skin, lessen the appearance of scars, and help burns heal significantly.
Pain Relief
Relieve back, neck, and arthritis pain with far infrared sauna heat therapy.
Researchers studying HRP (Heat Responsive Pain) have observed remarkable therapeutic benefits by using continuous low level heat therapy for treating lower back and upper body pain, all conditions that fall under the HRP classification.
Improved Circulation
Heating of muscles with infrared heat produces an increased blood flow level similar to that seen during exercise.
Body temperature elevation also produces an increase in blood flow. Infrared heat assists in resolution of inflammatory infiltrates, edema and exudates.
The increased peripheral circulation provides the transport needed to help evacuate the edema which can help end inflammation, decrease pain and help speed healing.
Lowered Blood Pressue
Repeated sessions in an Infrared Sauna improves impaired blood vessel functions in patients with high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.
This suggests a preventative role for sauna use for arteriosclerosis.
Weight Loss
A 30 minute far infrared sauna session can burn up to 300-600 calories!
As the body works to cool itself while using a far infrared sauna, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate.
Detoxing Infrared Saunas infrared heat therapy raises core body temperature causing passive cardiovascular conditioning. Your body’s natural response to far infrared heat therapy is to increase circulation and sweat.
Check out the results with a heart rate monitor and you will be amazed!
Contraindications
Individuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician or a pharmacist for possible changes in the drugs effect when the body is exposed to infrared waves or elevated body temperature. Diuretics, barbiturates and beta-blockers may impair the body’s natural heat loss mechanisms.
Some over the counter drugs such as antihistamines may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.
Children
The core body temperature of children rises much faster than adults. This occurs due to a higher metabolic rate per body mass, limited circulatory adaptation to increased cardiac demands and the inability to regulate body temperature by sweating. Consult with the child’s Pediatrician before using the sauna.
The Elderly
The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must be able to activate its natural cooling processes in order to maintain core body temperature.
Cardiovascular Conditions
Individuals with cardiovascular conditions or problems (hypertension / hypo tension), congestive heart failure, impaired coronary circulation or those who are taking medications, which might affect blood pressure, should exercise extreme caution when exposed to prolonged heat. Heat stress increases cardiac output, blood flow, in an effort to transfer internal body heat to the outside environment via the skin (perspiration) and respiratory system. This takes place primarily due to major changes in the heart rate, which has the potential to increase by thirty (30) beats per minute for each degree increase in core body temperature.
Menstruation
Heating of the low back area of women during the menstrual period may temporarily increase their menstrual flow. Some women endure this process to gain the pain relief commonly associated with their cycle whereas others simply choose to avoid sauna use during that time of the month.
Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Central Nervous System Tumors and Diabetes with Neuropathy are conditions that are associated with impaired sweating.
Hemophiliacs / Individuals Prone To Bleeding
The use of Infrared should be avoided by anyone who is predisposed to bleeding.
Fever
An individual that has a fever should not use any type of sauna.
Alcohol / Alcohol Abuse
Contrary to popular belief, it is not advisable to attempt to “Sweat Out” a hangover. Alcohol intoxication decreases a person’s judgment; therefore they may not realize it when the body has a negative reaction to high heat. Alcohol also increases the heart rate, which may be further increased by heat stress.
Joint Injury
If you have a recent (acute) joint injury, it should not be heated for the first 48 hours after an injury or until the hot and swollen symptoms subside. If you have a joint or joints that are chronically hot and swollen, these joints may respond poorly to vigorous heating of any kind. Vigorous heating is strictly contra-indicated in cases of enclosed infections, be they dental, in joints or in any other tissues.
Insensitivity to Heat
An individual that has insensitivity to heat should not use the any type of sauna.
Implants, Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants
Implants generally reflect far infrared waves and thus are not heated by this system, nevertheless you should consult your surgeon prior to using an Infrared Sauna. Certainly, the usage of an Infrared Sauna must be discontinued if you experience pain near any such implants. Silicone does absorb Far infrared energy. Implanted silicone or silicone prostheses for nose or ear replacement may be warmed by the Far infrared waves. Since silicone melts at over 200°C (392°F), it should not be adversely affected by the usage of an infrared Sauna.
